Budget-Friendly Safari in Tarangire, Ngorongoro & Serengeti’s Western Corridor
You’ll arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), where your Tanzania Moja Adventure and Safaris guide will welcome you. From there, you’ll transfer to your hotel in Arusha.
Today you head to Tarangire National Park, a fascinating place where the Tarangire River draws
giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and antelopes. This concentration of prey attracts many lions, so you
have a great chance of spotting them.
During the dry season, the river is the only water source for miles, attracting huge herds of
elephants — Tarangire holds the largest elephant population in Northern Tanzania for much of
the year. These gentle giants often come close to safari vehicles out of curiosity, making for
memorable encounters.
Don’t miss the park’s iconic ancient baobab trees that tower over the landscape, adding to the
stunning scenery.
Prepare for a full day at the iconic Ngorongoro Crater — often called the “Lost World.” Descend
about 600 meters into this vast volcanic caldera, home to thousands of animals living in close
proximity, including elephants, lions, buffaloes, cheetahs, zebras, and even endangered rhinos.
Your guide will stop at a lookout point offering breathtaking panoramic views of the crater
before you enter. Note that giraffes cannot walk down into the crater due to their build.
After a morning game drive, enjoy a picnic lunch near Lake Magadi, where hippos wallow and
birds like kites sometimes swoop playfully to snatch food (watch your meal!). Please respect
wildlife by not feeding any animals — it’s illegal and harmful to them.
Today you venture into the heart of Serengeti National Park, exploring the Seronera area — one
of Tanzania’s largest and most wildlife-rich parks. Expect to see lions, elephants, giraffes,
buffaloes, zebras, and possibly rare cats like cheetahs and servals.
The Serengeti inspired Disney’s “Lion King,” but the real experience is far wilder and more
breathtaking. Immerse yourself in the raw beauty and endless plains of this UNESCO World
Heritage Site.
Today’s adventure takes you to the western edge of the Serengeti — the Western Corridor. This
remote area is less visited but offers abundant wildlife sightings.
You’ll spot elephants, giraffes, antelopes, and warthogs. Predators such as lions, leopards,
cheetahs, and servals roam here. The Grumeti and Mbalageti Rivers flow through the corridor,
home to hippos and crocodiles who prefer the water by day but come to the banks early
mornings and evenings.
Your safari concludes with a scenic flight over Tanzania’s vast landscapes. If you want a last morning game drive, have an early breakfast to maximize wildlife spotting en route to the airstrip. Otherwise, you can enjoy a relaxed breakfast and transfer to your flight at your own pace.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
Note: Hotel check-out is at 10:00 AM. Late check-out may be available for an extra fee — please
