Tarangire, Ngorongoro & Serengeti's Western Corridor

7 Days - Luxury Serengeti Escape

This 7-day luxury safari is timed for one of the most exciting natural spectacles of the year — the Great Migration passing through Serengeti’s Western Corridor, typically from late May to late June. During this period, herds of wildebeest and zebra gather and attempt to cross the crocodile- infested Grumeti River. It’s a quieter, more intimate way to witness the migration, away from the peak-season crowds in the north.

- ITINERARY -

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), a representative of Tanzania Moja Adventure And Safaris Ltd will greet you and arrange your private transfer to Arusha. Take the rest of the day to unwind and prepare for your journey into the wild.

Your adventure begins in Tarangire, a park famous for its ancient baobabs and massive elephant herds. The Tarangire River draws a variety of wildlife — giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and buffaloes — particularly during the dry season when water sources are scarce. This abundance attracts numerous predators, especially lions.
Elephants, unafraid of vehicles, may approach quite closely — a thrilling yet safe encounter. Tarangire is home to Northern Tanzania’s largest elephant population from June to October and December to March.
In addition to wildlife, the scenery here is unmatched. The ancient baobab trees, some of the oldest in Africa, tower over the landscape and add an iconic charm to the region.

Today you’ll journey to the legendary Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the richest wildlife-viewing areas in the world. The day begins with an early descent into the crater, where a lush, green caldera shelters elephants, zebras, buffaloes, antelopes, lions, cheetahs, and even rare black rhinos.
Although giraffes are not found inside the crater (due to its steep walls), you’ll find an astonishing variety of species packed into this natural amphitheater.
You'll stop at a lookout point offering panoramic views before descending into the heart of the crater. Later, enjoy a picnic lunch near Lake Magadi, where you may spot hippos surfacing and birds trying to sneak a snack from your table.
Please remember — feeding wildlife is strictly prohibited and harmful to their natural behavior.

Today you journey to the crown jewel of African safaris: Serengeti National Park. As you drive through its central region, Seronera, you'll be surrounded by open savannahs filled with lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and countless antelope species. There’s also a strong chance to spot elusive predators like cheetahs and leopards.
Serengeti is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the heart of the Great Migration. Its cinematic scenery inspired Disney’s “The Lion King,” and a game drive here brings that magic to life.

Today, you’ll venture into Serengeti’s rarely visited Western Corridor. This region offers unique and off-the-beaten-path game viewing experiences along the Grumeti and Mbalageti Rivers.
Expect to see elephants, giraffes, warthogs, and a variety of antelope species. Predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs, and servals are also known to roam the area. This is prime migration territory — depending on timing, you may witness wildebeest and zebras attempting to cross the Grumeti River while massive crocodiles wait silently below the surface.
This region’s remoteness ensures fewer crowds, letting you savor the beauty and drama of the migration in a more exclusive, peaceful setting.

Enjoy a scenic bush flight out of Serengeti, soaring above vast plains and wildlife-dotted landscapes. If time allows, take an early morning game drive en route to the airstrip for one last look at the wonders of the wild.
You may also opt for a relaxed morning and direct transfer to the airstrip depending on your preference. Either way, your guide will accommodate your wishes to ensure a seamless transition.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
